Lana from Cardiff rehoming centre story
Hi! I am Lana. I would like to tell you my story as one of the Cardiff rehoming centre stories. I had lived in a shelter for almost three years before my lovely family adopted me. It wasn’t the best time of my life. I sat in the cage with unfriendly dogs. They hurt me and didn’t allow me to eat my food therefore I tried to do it at night when the other dogs were sleeping. I was shy and insecure.
Fortunately, one day two women came to our shelter to choose a dog. They decided to adopt a dog that had lived there for a long time. This dog was I. When I met my new family at my home, I was very scared. But my new mum was nice and helped me get used to them. They rehomed another dog to make my adaptation easier and did their best for me. However, I became a brave and confident dog. I am thankful to my family for my new happy life. And I think my dog friend Linda has also her own story like other dogs have their happy adopting stories about pets.

Mira and Zlat homeless pets’ story
Hello! We are Mira and Zlat. We were born with our little sisters and brothers on the streets. Our mummy tried to feed us, play, and grow us as we lived in a family. However, life on the streets was very dangerous and cruel. Children tortured and hurt cats and kittens. They considered that it was funny and even their parents did not punish them. In addition, it was a usual situation for them.
One day a kind woman decided to stop our suffering and took us to her home. She knew that adopting a pet saves life and helped homeless pets find new families. There we got many cat friends that had been rescued before us. All of them were waiting for new homes. We did not expect to find our families quickly and surely did not wait that one family would adopt us together. But miracles happen and two women that really like pets, and lost their cats not so far decided to take us.
It was hard to get used to living in a new home and were scared enough for the first time. Zlat hissed, bit, and beat anyone who wanted to take him. Before the pet adoption, he was not sociable and open to people. But our new family changed his behavior and helped with adaptation. Now he is so a nice and friendly cat. We are lucky to have such a family that adopted us together and give us all we need.
